Landscaping – Part One of MANY

With good progress being made inside our Portuguese farmhouse renovation, it’s time to take a look at a bit of landscaping. We have some big plans for our one acre plot of land – down in the veg garden, future vineyard, orchards and olive groves – but also around the house.

Today we’re looking at a path we travel frequently that needs some design improvements. We have a set of concrete stairs that lead up to our veg garden but they have some issues: they’re unattractive, the steps are too tall and they don’t provide access to where we go most often – the vegetable garden.

The plan is to build some natural stone stairs and carve out a new path up to the garden. This will involve a bit of demolition to undo what was previously there but by the end of this episode, things should be much clearer.
